About The Comox Valley Convening for Action
on Vancouver Island Team
The Comox Valley team of the Convening for Action on Vancouver Island (CV-CAVI) inter-regional and collaborative initiative on rainwater/stormwater management has been underway for eight years. The CV-CAVI team is composed of representatives from all four local governments, Ministry of Transportation, Comox Valley Land Trust, TimberWest and the Partnership for Water Sustainability BC.
Our Mission
To develop tools, best management practices and initiatives to encourage a region-wide watershed based approach to sensible and sustainable rainwater management.

What We've Achieved
- Implementer of the Regional Growth Strategy. By providing a forum for cross-jurisdiction implementation on rainwater sustainability goals over time.
- Creating collaborative approaches between jurisdictions locally, provincially, including private and stewardship sectors
- Support learning opportunities from others in the Georgia Basin and on learning from action.
- Showcasing and promoting of successful models of rainwater management.
- Informing provincial and local policies, legislation and best management practices.
- Created tools such as the WaterWise Land Development guide, the Water Balance Model Express an on-line tool, and this website.
